MLB owners approve sale of Tampa Bay Rays to group headed by Patrick Zalupski

Major League Baseball owners have unanimously approved the sale of the Tampa Bay Rays to a group led by real estate developer Patrick Zalupski. The transfer from Stu Sternberg's group is expected to close soon. Sternberg took control of the team in 2005 and rebranded it as the Rays after the 2007 season.
