AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (19-9) lost 8-6 (BOX SCORE)

France started for Sugar Land and was rolling until the 4th when he ran into trouble. He ended up allowing 3 runs over 3.2 innings. Sugar Land got on the board in the 5th on a Hummel RBI single. They got another run in the 7th on a Berryhill solo HR but El Paso score a run in the bottom of the 7th to extend the lead. Sugar Land got another run in the 8th on a fielder’s choice but El Paso again responded with a run. In the 9th, the offense rallied for 3 runs on a Bastidas RBI single and Leon game tying 2 run HR. Unfortunately, El Paso was able to walk it off in the bottom of the 9th as Sugar Land fell 8-6.

Note: Leon has a .918 OPS this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (7-15) lost 4-0 (BOX SCORE)

Brown started for the Hooks and went 5 innings allowing 4 runs while striking out 4. The offense was quiet all night long, picking up just six singles as they were shutout in the 4-0 loss.

A+: Asheville Tourists (9-12) lost 12-7 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the first scoring 5 runs on a Garcia RBI single, Cruz RBI single, Williams sac fly and Encarnacion 2 run double. Swanson started for Asheville but struggled allowing 8 runs, 7 earned over 4.2 innings. The offense got another run in the 4th on a Johnson solo HR. They got one more in the 6th on a Williams RBI double. Cobos allowed 4 runs in relief and the offense was unable to get anything else going as Asheville fell 12-7.

Note: Fisher has a .970 OPS this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (14-8) won 10-2 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers got off to a good start scoring 2 runs in the first on a Carrillo RBI double and Santander RBI single. In the 4th, they picked up 3 more on a Hernandez RBI triple and Ochoa 2 run HR. Tredwell got the start and allowed 1 run over 3.1 innings while striking out 3. The offense blew things open in the 7th scoring 5 runs on Santander 2 run double, Luciano RBI single and Hernandez 2 run HR. Langford allowed 1 run over 3.1 innings in relief and Sanchez closed it out with 1.2 scoreless innings as the Woodpeckers won the series opener.

Note: Hernandez is hitting .368 in five games this season.
