AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (50-44) won 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Ullola started for Sugar Land and was unhittable tossing 5.1 no-hit innings with 11 strikeouts, though he did walk 5. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning on an error. They got 2 more runs in the 6th on a Sacco 2 run HR. The pen allowed a run but was able to closed out the 3-1 win.

Note: Ullola has a 3.50 ERA this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (31-58) won 11-6 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the first inning on a Clarke 2 run HR. Nezuh made his first start for the Hooks since May and allowed 2 runs over 3 innings. The offense got another run in the 4th on a Ferreras solo HR. Mancini relieved Nezuh and allowed 3 runs over 4 innings. The Hooks were down 5-3 in the 9th but rallied scoring on an error, Clarke bases loaded walk, Martinez 2 run single, Cole 2 run triple, Austin RBI single and Ferreras RBI double to take an 11-5 lead. Guilfoil allowed a run in the 9th but the pen held on for the 11-6 win.

Note: Cole has a .830 OPS this season.

A+: Asheville Tourists (39-49) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the first inning on a Spence RBI single. They got another run in the 2nd inning on a Jaworsky RBI single. Pinto got the start but struggled allowing 4 runs over 3 innings of work. Spence got a run back in the 5th on an RBI double. Tredwell pitched in relief and was solid tossing 4.2 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts. The offense was quiet the rest of the way though as Asheville fell 4-3.

Note: Tredwell has a 3.95 ERA this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (46-43)

Game 1 – lost 7-6 (BOX SCORE)

Game one was a continuation of the game started on Saturday. Rodriguez allowed 5 runs in the firs but Garcia pitched two scoreless innings in a rehab outing. The offense rallied for 4 runs in the second inning on a Schiavone RBI groundout, Luciano RBI double and Villarroel 2 run single. In the 6th, Schiavone tied the game with a solo HR. Cruz relieved Garcia and tossed 4 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts. The Woodpeckers took the lead in the 10th on a fielder’s choice. Smith tossed two scoreless but in the 10th inning, he allowed 2 runs as Salem walked it off.

Note: Valencia has 41 SB this season.

The Woodpeckers got on the board in the second inning scoring a run on a balk. Smith got the start and went 4 innings allowing 1 run with 2 strikeouts. In the 5th, the Woodpeckers took the lead on a Luciano RBI single and Villarroel RBI groundout. Salem responded right back though scoring 3 runs to take the lead. The offense was unable to comeback as the Woodpeckers dropped game two as well.
