AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (50-46) lost 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Salazar solo HR. Feury started but went just 1 scoreless inning, not sure his this was injury related or not. He was relieved by Kouba who allowed 3 runs over 3.2 innings. The offense picked up another run in the 5th on a Price solo HR. The pen allowed 2 more runs and the offense struggled the rest of the way as Sugar Land fell 5-2.

Note: Price has a .778 OPS in Triple-A.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (32-59) lost 8-7 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks jumped out to an early lead scoring 4 runs on a Sullivan solo HR, Clarke solo HR and Ferreras 2 run HR in the first inning. Swanson got the start and went 4 innings allowing 3 runs. The offense added a run in the 5th on an Austin RBI double and one in the 6th on a Clarke sac fly. Urias pitched in relief and was solid until the 9th where he allowed a go-ahead 3 run HR. In the bottom of the 9th, the Hooks tied it on a Cole sac fly. The Sod Poodles got a run in the 10th and the Hooks’ offense was unable to respond as they fell 8-7.

Note: Clarke has a 1.019 OPS with the Hooks.

A+: Asheville Tourists (39-51) lost 5-0 (BOX SCORE)

True started for Asheville and was solid allowing 1 run over 5 innings while racking up 7 strikeouts. Santos struggled in relief allowing 4 runs as the Hot Rods extended their lead. The Asheville offense was quiet all night collecting just three hits as they were shutout in the 5-0 loss.

Note: Nunez has a .703 OPS this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (48-43) won 2-0 (BOX SCORE)

Howard started for the Woodpeckers and pitched really well striking out 6 over 5 scoreless innings. The offense got on the board in the 3rd on a Villarroel RBI groundout. In the 9th, Schiavone added an RBI single. McPherson closed it out with 4 scoreless as the Woodpeckers won 2-0.

Note: Howard has a 3.86 ERA in Single-A.
