AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (64-37) lost 5-1 (BOX SCORE)

Blubaugh started for Sugar Land and went 3.2 innings allowing 1 run. Gomez struggled in relief allowing 4 runs as the River Cats opened up their lead. VanWey was great in relief tossing 2.1 scoreless innings with 4 strikeouts. Dezenzo connected on a solo HR in the 9th inning but that was it from the offense as Sugar Land fell 5-1.

Note: VanWey has 68 K in 50.1 innings this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (33-62) won 9-0 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the first inning on a Price RBI double. They got 3 more runs in the 2nd inning on a Corona RBI double, Arocho RBI single and Matthews RBI single. In the 4th, Arocho added another RBI single. Fleury started for the Hooks and pitched well striking out 4 over 4.2 scoreless innings. The offense got 3 more in the 5th on a Price solo HR and RBI singles from Espinosa and Arocho. Price added another solo HR in the 8th inning. Mancini closed it out tossing 4 scoreless innings as the Hooks won 9-0.

Note: Mancini has a 1.65 ERA in Double-A this season.

A+: Asheville Tourists (41-52) won 7-0 (BOX SCORE)

Nezuh got the start and pitched well striking out 9 over 4.2 scoreless innings. The offense got on the board in the 6th scoring 4 runs on a Cerny RBI double, Encarnacion RBI single and Fisher 2 run HR. They got 2 more in the 7th inning on an Encarnacion 2 run single. In the 9th, Caldera added a solo HR. Batista was great in relief tossing 4 no-hit innings to close it out.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (43-53) lost 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Rodriguez got the start and allowed 5 runs, 4 earned, over 3.2 innings. The offense got on the board in the 8th on back to back RBI doubles from Luciano and Gomez. Nunez was solid in relief tossing 3 no-hit innings with 4 strikeouts in his full-season debut but the offense was unable to score again as the Woodpeckers fell 5-2.

Note: Gomez has a .727 OPS this season.
