AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (36-29) lost 10-8 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the first on a Short leadoff home run. Blubaugh got the start but struggled allowing 8 runs, 7 earned, over 1.2 innings. The offense got 4 back in the 2nd inning on a Bastidas RBI single, Narvaez RBI single, Trammell sac fly and Matthres RBI single. Barbed added an RBI single in the 3rd. Kouba pitched in relief allowing 2 runs over 4 innings. The offense got a couple back in the middle innings but it wasn’t enough as Sugar Land fell 10-8.

Note: Contreras has a 0.96 ERA this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (21-38) lost 5-1 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the 3rd on a Sacco RBI groundout. Urias got the start and went 5 innings allowing 5 runs, with 4 of runs coming in the 4th inning. Santa was great in relief striking out 4 over 2 perfect innings but the offense was unable to mount a rally as the Hooks fell 5-1.

Note: Santa has a 0.86 ERA this season.

A+: Asheville Tourists (26-34) won 7-2 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got the scoring started in the 3rd inning scoring 4 runs on a Nunez sac fly and Guillemette 2 run HR. They got 2 more runs in the 5th on a Guillemette RBI double and Gonzalez bases loaded walks. Gomez added a sac fly in the 7th inning. Mayer got the start and pitched really well allowing 2 runs over 6.2 innings while striking out 5.

Note: Mayer has a 3.55 ERA in High-A this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (33-27) lost 1-0 (BOX SCORE)

Ogando got the start for the Woodpeckers and pitched really well striking out 6 over 6 scoreless innings. He was relieved by Smith who allowed 1 run over 3 innings with 5 strikeouts. Unfortunately, the Woodpeckers offense struggled collecting just 4 hits as they were shutout in the 1-0 loss.

Note: Ogando has a 3.52 ERA this season.
