AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (37-33) lost 7-1 (BOX SCORE)

Blubaugh started for Sugar Land and allowed 4 runs over 6 innings, with 3 of those runs coming in the first on a 3 run HR. The offense got a run in the first inning on a Trammell solo HR. Contreras struggled in relief allowing 3 runs and the offense was unable to get anything else going as Sugar Land fell 7-1.

Note: Knorr has 38 K in 28.1 innings this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (22-42) lost 7-2 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the 3rd scoring 2 runs on a Williams 2 run single. Urias got the start and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5.2 innings. Sanchez struggled in relief allowing 6 runs, 4 earned, over just 1.1 innings. The offense was quiet the rest of the way as the Hooks fell 7-2.

A+: Asheville Tourists (29-36) won 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Gillis got the start for Asheville and pitched well tossing 6 innings allowing just 2 runs while striking out 4. Asheville got on the board in 4th tying the game up on a Vogel 2 run single. The pen was great with Mikulski tossing 3 scoreless innings. Gomez put Asheville in the lead with an RBI single in the 12th. Tucker closed it out with 3 scoreless innings as Asheville won 3-2.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (35-30) lost 8-7 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Hernandez solo HR. Ogando got the start and went 2.2 innings allowing 5 runs. The Woodpeckers battled back in the 4th scoring 6 runs on a Schiavone RBI double, Salas hit by pitch, and Luciano grand slam. The pen pitched well until the 9th but in the 9th they allowed 3 runs as the Pelicans walked it off for the 8-7 win.

Note: Varela has a 3.75 ERA this season.
