AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (35-21) lost 13-7 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the first on a Wagner RBI single. Henley started for Sugar Land but struggled allowing 7 runs, 4 earned over 1.1 innings. In the 5th, the offense put up 4 runs on a Loperfido RBI single, Cabbage 2 run double and Leon RBI single. The pen gave up six runs as the Aviators extended their lead. Leon would add a solo HR in the 7th and sac fly in the 9th but that would be it as Sugar Land fell 13-7.

Note: Leon has 54 RBI this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (18-32) lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Knorr started for the Hooks and went 5 innings allowing 4 runs. The offense got on the board in the 3rd inning on a Williams solo HR, his first homer in Double-A. The Hooks rallied in the 6th inning scoring 3 runs to tie it on an error and RBI singles from Wrobleski and Williams. Mancini was great in relief tossing 4 scoreless innings. The game went to extras and in the top of the inning, the Hooks got a run on a Correa sac fly. Unfortunately, De Paula wasn’t able to hold the lead as he allowed 2 runs and Midland walked off with the 6-5 win.

Note: Mancini has a 2.41 ERA this season.

A+: Asheville Tourists (22-27) won 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

Batisa got the start and allowed 3 runs over 4.2 innings striking out 5. Matthews got the Tourists on the board in the first inning with a leadoff homer. In the 2nd inning, Matthews connected on another solo HR. In the 5th, the Tourists took the lead on RBI singles from Guillemette and Loftin. Cobos closed it out tossing 4.1 scoreless as the Tourists won 4-3.

Note: Matthews has a .870 OPS this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (24-26) lost 10-0 (BOX SCORE)

Rodriguez started for the Woodpeckers and pitched well early on striking out 6 over the first 2 innings. In the third he allowed 3 runs and finished going 3 innings and striking out 7. Marte pitched in relief and went 3.1 innings allowing 7 runs, though only 4 were earned. The Woodpeckers offense struggled picking up four hits, all doubles, but were unable to score any runs as they lost 10-0.

Note: Nunez has 9 doubles this season.
