AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (39-36) won 5-2 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the first inning scoring 3 runs on a Castro 2 run HR and Price RBI single. Alexander got the start and was great tossing 5.2 scoreless innings. The offense got 2 more runs in the 5th on a Bastidas 2 run HR. After Halligan allowed a couple of runs, Contreras and Gaither closed it out as Sugar Land won 5-2.

Note: Castro is hitting .318 in Triple-A.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (22-46) lost 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the first inning on a Clarke solo HR. Swanson got the start and allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, over 2.1 innings. Dombroski pitched in relief and tossed 5 innings allowing 1 run with 3 strikeouts. The offense was quiet the rest of the way though as the Hooks fell 3-1.

Note: Dombroski has a 3.00 ERA in Double-A this season.

  • Nic Swanson, RHP: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 4 K

  • Trey Dombroski, LHP: 5.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 3 K

A+: Asheville Tourists (32-36) won 9-0 (BOX SCORE)

Mayer started for Asheville and went 3 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. Jaworsky put Asheville on the board with an RBI single in the 4th inning. The offense got 4 more runs in the 7th on an error and a Sullivan 3 run HR. The offense added more runs on in the 9th inning on a Nunez sac fly, Jaworsky RBI single, Gomez RBI single and Brutcher sac fly. Tredwell closed it out tossing 5 scoreless innings in his High-A debut.

Note: Tredwell has a 3.57 ERA this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (36-33) lost 1-0 (BOX SCORE)

Palmer made his first appearance since May 10th and tossed a scoreless first inning. He was relieved by Cruz who went 5 innings allowing 1 run with 6 strikeouts. Frias tossed 2 scoreless innings in relief too. The offense had a rough go of it collecting just 2 hits as they were shutout 1-0.

Note: Palmer has a 2.16 ERA this season.
