AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (40-40) lost 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the first inning on a Castro RBI single. Alexander got the start but struggled allowing 5 runs, 2 earned, over 4.2 innings. Sugar Land picked up a run in the 6th on a Short RBI single. In the 7th, the offense rallied with a Barber solo HR and Whitcomb 2 run HR to tie it up. Contreras gave up a run in the 8th though and the offense was unable to score again as Sugar Land fell 6-5.

Note: Matthews has 10 HR this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (24-49) won 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the 3rd on a Clarke RBI triple. Swanson got the start and went 3 scoreless innings. In the 6th, Sacco added a 2 run single to give the Hooks the lead. Clarke would connect on a solo HR in the 8th. Dombroski relieved Swanson and allowed 2 runs over 5.2 innings. Sanchez came on in the 9th and got the las tout as the Hooks won 4-2.

Note: Dombroski has a 3.02 ERA in Double-A this season.

A+: Asheville Tourists (34-39) won 7-4 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Bush solo HR. They got 2 more runs in the 3rd on a Nunez solo HR and another Bush solo HR. Mayer got the start and was dominant tossing 5 scoreless inning with 7 strikeouts. In the 5th, Gomez connected on a 3 run HR. Tredwell allowed 4 runs in relief but Jaworsky added another insurance run with an RBI double in the 7th. Tucker closed it out with a scoreless 9th as Ashevile won 7-4.

Note: Mayer has a 2.85 ERA in High-A.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (40-34) lost 4-2 (BOX SCORE)

Smith got the start for the Woodpeckers and went 3.2 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Schiavone solo HR. Cruz relieved Smith and went 4.1 innings allowing just 1 unearned run. Villarroel added a solo HR in the 8th but that was it from the offense as the Woodpeckers fell 4-2.

Note: Villarroel has a .749 OPS this season.
