AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (26-18) won 9-3 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land jumped out to a huge lead early scoring 8 runs in the first inning on bases loaded walks to Price and Guillorme, a Castro grand slam and a Corona 2 run HR. Blubaugh started for Sugar Land and went 6 innings allowing 3 runs. Sugar Land picked up a 9th run in the 3rd inning on an error. Tamarez and Whitley shut it down with scoreless outings as Sugar Land won 9-3.

Note: Castro is hitting .441 in Triple-A.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (12-26) won 6-4 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got on the board in the 2nd inning on a Deming RBI double. In the 4th they got 2 more runs on a Ferreras solo HR and Wrobleski RBI single. Dombroski got the start and went 5 innings allowing 3 runs. The RouchRiders took the lead in the 6th. The Hooks would rally though tying the game in the 7th on a Cole RBI double. In the 8th, they took the lead on a Garcia 2 run single. Sanchez closed it out tossing 2.1 scoreless innings as the Hooks won 6-4.

Note: Cole has a .750 OPS this season.

Game 1 – lost 13-0 (BOX SCORE)

Guedez got the start in game one but struggled allowing 10 runs over 3 innings of work. He was relieved by Rodriguez who allowed 3 runs over 3 innings. The offense collected 6 hits but were unable to score as they fell 13-0.

Note: Sullivan has 36 walks in 34 games this season.

Game 2 – won 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the first inning on a Gomez 2 run single. Pena started for Asheville and went 3.1 innings allowing 1 run. The offense got a run in the 4th on a Vogel solo HR and one more in the 6th on a Bush RBI double. Gillis closed it out tossing 3 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts.

Note: Gillis has a 3.22 ERA this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (19-19) won 18-6 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers offense got going early and often. Carrillo put them on the board in the first on an RBI double. They got 3 runs in the 2nd inning on a Schiavone RBI double, Villarroel sac fly and Carrillo sac fly. In the 3rd, they scored 4 runs on a Villarroel grand slam. The offense would add 4 more runs in the 4th on a Valencia single and Hernandez 3 run HR. Cruz got the start and went 4 innings allowing 2 runs. Hernandez added a solo HR in the 6th. In the 7th, they got 2 more runs on a Hernandez bases loaded walk and Schiavone HBP. Luciano capped off the game with a 3 run HR in the 8th inning. Mercedes closed it out tossing 3 scoreless innings with 5 strikeouts.

Note: Villarroel has a .819 OPS this season.
