AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (29-16) lost 8-6 (BOX SCORE)

Sugar Land got on the board in the first inning on a Bastidas leadoff homer. They got 2 more in the 2nd on a Hamilton 2 run HR. They picked up 2 more runs in the 5th on a Bastidas RBI double and Leon sac fly. Henley got the start but struggled allowing 7 runs over 4.1 innings. The offense got another one back in the 6th on a Hamilton RBI double. The Isotopes got an insurance run and the Space Cowboys’ offense was unable to come back as Sugar Land fell 8-6.

Note: Bastidas has a 1.003 OPS this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (13-26) lost 3-1 (BOX SCORE)

Knorr started for the Hooks and pitched well tossing 5 scoreless innings with 6 strikeouts. The Hooks got on the board on a Brewer RBI single in the 7th. Guilfoil relieved Knorr and allowed 3 runs, all unearned. The offense was unable to get anything else going as the Hooks fell 3-1.

Note: Knorr has a 2.70 ERA this season.

Game 1 – won 7-6 (BOX SCORE)

This was a continuation of Saturday’s game. After falling behind 3-0 in the first, Asheville bounced back scored 4 runs in the 2nd inning on a Deming RBI double, Encarnacion RBI single, a run on a fielder’s choice and a Williams RBI triple. Rome would tie the game and then take the lead with a run in the 6th and 7th. In the bottom of the 7th, the Tourists walked it off thanks to a Cerny 3 run HR as they won 7-6.

Game 2 – won 9-4 (BOX SCORE)

Rome jumped out to a 2-0 lead in game two. The Tourists got 2 runs back in the third on a Williams RBI double and Baez RBI single. Asheville got 3 more runs in the 4th scoring one on an error, one on a wild pitch and another on a Williams RBI triple. The offense continued to pour on scoring 4 runs in the 5th on a Cerny RBI double, Deming RBI single and Guillemette 2 run HR. Batista got the start and allowed 1 hit and 2 runs over 5 innings, with both runs coming in the first inning.

Game 1 – lost 8-2 (BOX SCORE)

This was a continuation of Saturday’s game. The Woodpeckers got on the board in the 3rd scoring 2 runs on a Caldera 2 run single. Santos got the start and went 2 innings, before the suspension yesterday. Pena went 5 innings in relief striking out 6 over 5 innings allowing 2 runs. Chirinos struggled in relief allowing 6 runs as the Cannon Ballers went on to win 8-2.

Mejias started game two for the Woodpeckers and allowed 2 runs over 4 innings of work. He was relieved by Almonte who tossed 2 scoreless innings. The offense struggled picking up just 3 singles in the game as they were shutout in the 2-0 loss.
