AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (34-19) won 20-7 (BOX SCORE)

Gordon started for Sugar Land and allowed 7 runs, 4 earned, over 4 innings of work. The offense got things going in the 4th scoring 7 runs on a Hensley RBI double, Hamilton bases loaded walk, Bastidas RBI single and Cabbage grand slam. They got 2 more in the 5th on a Salazar 2 run HR. In the 8th, they busted it open scoring 8 runs on a Bastidas 2 run HR, Cabbage 3 run HR, Wagner RBI double, a run on an error and a Hamilton sac fly. The offense continued to produce getting a Loftin RBI single in the 8th and then a Hamilton solo HR and Cabbage RBI double in the 9th. The bullpen was great tossing 5 scoreless as they won 20-7.

Note: VanWey has a 2.89 ERA in relief this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (16-31) won 7-4 (BOX SCORE)

The Hooks got the scoring started early picking up a run in the first on a Price sac fly and another run in the 2nd on a balk. They picked up 4 runs in the 3rd a sac fly, a wild pitch and RBI singles from Correa and Espinosa. Bloss got the start and went 4.2 innings allowing 4 runs. Barber connected on a solo HR in the 8th for an insurance run. The bullpen was great tossing 4.1 scoreless to close out the win.

A+: Asheville Tourists (20-26) lost 12-3 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the first inning getting an RBI single from Baez. Hicks got the start and while he struck out 6 over 3 innings, he allowed 7 runs, though only 2 were earned. The defense didn’t help him much. He was relieved by Carrasco who struggled allowing 3 runs in 1 inning. The offense got a Fisher RBI groundout in the 6th and a run on a wild pitch in the 8th. True pitched in relief striking out 7 over 4 innings allowing 2 runs. The offense was unable to overcome the early deficit as Asheville dropped this one 12-3.

Note: True has 49 K in 36.2 innings this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (22-25) lost 9-4 (BOX SCORE)

Tredwell got the start for the Woodpeckers but struggled allowing 5 runs over 2.2 innings. The offense got on the board in the 4th on a Hernandez sac fly. Almonte and Mercedes allowed a few more runs as the GreenJackets extended their lead. Santa went 3 scoreless with 3 strikeouts, so that was good to see. The offense got a few back in the 7th on a Nunez RBI double and another run scoring on an error. Hernandez added an RBI single in the 9th but that was it as Fayetteville fell 9-4.

Note: Nunez has a .737 OPS this season.
