AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (23-11) won 3-2 (BOX SCORE)

Gusto started for Sugar Land and 3.1 innings allowing 2 runs. He was relieved by Greene who tossed 2.1 scoreless innings. Leon put Sugar Land on the board tying the game with a 2 run HR in the 6th inning. The bullpen was great keeping it close as the game went to extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th, Julks send Sugar Land home with a win on a walk-off sac fly.

Note: Leon has 36 RBI in 30 games this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (8-20) lost 12-5 (BOX SCORE)

Santos started for the Hooks but really struggled allowing 9 runs over 2.2 innings. The offense got on the board with a run in the 4th on a Brewer RBI single. In the 5th, Ferreras connected on a solo HR, his first in Double-A. Gomez relieved Santos and allowed 2 runs over 3.2 innings. The Hooks picked up another run in the 6th on a Sacco RBI single. In the 8th, the offense scored 2 runs on a fielder’s choice and a Melton sac fly. Unfortunately that was it for the comeback as the Hooks dropped the series opener 12-5.

Note: Sacco is hitting .284 this season.

A+: Asheville Tourists (12-15) won 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Asheville got on the board in the 1st inning on a bases loaded walk to Whitaker. Taylor got the start but left after 3 batters due to an apparent injury. He was relieved by Cobos who tossed 3.2 hitless innings. Asheville took the lead in the 6th on a Whitaker solo HR. After the Dash tied it up, Asheville retook the lead scoring a run on a wild pitch in the 9th. The Dash tied the game again forcing extra innings. In the 10th, Whitaker came through with an RBI double to take the lead, though the Dash would tie it again for the third inning in a row. In the 11th, Asheville got 2 runs on Guillemette and Garcia RBI single. Perez allowed one run in the bottom of the inning but was able to hold on for the win.

Note: Williams is hitting .385 this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (16-12) lost 4-1 (BOX SCORE)

Santos started for the Woodpeckers and went 5 innings allowing 1 run while striking out 6. He was relieved by Pena who went the final 4 innings allowing 3 runs. Santander put the Woodpeckers on the board with a solo HR in the 7th but that was it from the offense as the Woodpeckers fell 4-1.

Note: Santos has a 2.52 ERA this season.
