AAA: Sugar Land Space Cowboys (17-18) won 7-6 (BOX SCORE)

Ivey got the start for Sugar Land and went 3 innings allowing 3 runs. The offense got on the board in the 5th on a Hamilton groundout. They got another run in the 6th on a Sacco RBI single. In the 7th, the offense added 4 runs on a Short 3 run HR and Whitcomb solo HR. The pen allowed a couple of runs as the Bees tied it at 6. In the 9th, Bastidas connected on a solo HR to go up 7-6. Castro tossed a scoreless 9th to close it out.

Note: Short has a .830 OPS this season.

AA: Corpus Christi Hooks (9-20) lost 5-3 (BOX SCORE)

Urias started for the Hooks and allowed 3 runs over 4.2 innings. The Hooks got on the board in the 6th inning on a 3 run HR from Garcia, his first of the year. Santa and Knorr both allowed a run in relief and the Hooks’ offense was unable to score again as they fell 5-3.

Note: Santa has a 1.35 ERA this season.

A+: Asheville Tourists (13-16) won 6-5 (BOX SCORE)

Brito started for Asheville but struggled allowing 5 runs over 3 innings of work. The offense got on the board in the 2nd inning getting a run on a Whitaker RBI double. In the 4th, Austin connected on a 2 run double to make it 5-3. The game stayed 5-3 until the 7th where Spence hit a 3 run HR to take a 6-5 lead. Bello closed out the game striking out 6 over 5 scoreless innings as Asheville won 6-5.

Note: Spence is hitting .306 overall this season.

A: Fayetteville Woodpeckers (15-14) lost 4-3 (BOX SCORE)

The Woodpeckers got on the board in the first inning on a Brutcher RBI single. They got another run in the 3rd on a Holy sac fly. Rodriguez got the start and pitched well allowing 1 run over 5 innings while striking out 9. The Red Sox tied it up in the 6th and then in the 8th, they scored 2 runs to take the lead. The Woodpeckers got a run back in the 9th on a Hernandez sac fly but that was it as they fell 4-3.

Note: Rodriguez has a 1.33 ERA this season.
