Blue Jays manager John Schneider says he’s optimistic George Springer will be available against the Seattle Mariners in Game 6 of the AL Championship Series in Toronto on Sunday night. Springer was hit on the right kneecap by a pitch during Friday’s 6-2 loss. Seattle leads the series 3-2. The 36-year-old Springer, a four-time All-Star, has been hitting .256 with three home runs this postseason. Schneider says Springer received treatment and is expected to test his knee during a team workout. He also says injured shortstop Bo Bichette still hasn’t run the bases since pulling up last Saturday.
