The Los Angeles Dodgers have called up top prospect Dalton Rushing and let veteran catcher Austin Barnes go. Rushing was hitting .308 with five home runs and 17 RBI at Triple-A Oklahoma City. He caught Clayton Kershaw during the three-time Cy Young Award winner’s recent rehab assignment. At the same time, the Dodgers designated for assignment Barnes. The backup catcher won two World Series titles in his 11 years with the team. Rushing is set to start Thursday against the Athletics. Manager Dave Roberts plans to have him play twice a week and pinch-hit.
