Clayton Kershaw crashed out of Game 1 of the NL Division Series, getting tagged for six runs in one-third of an inning against the Arizona Diamondbacks, who won 11-2. The three-time Cy Young Award winner had never made a start in which he’d pitched less than one inning. Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts had expected Kershaw to throw about 85 pitches. Instead, he was gone after 35. Kershaw needed 26 pitches before getting the first out of the inning. The D-backs raced to a 6-0 lead and by then, Roberts had seen enough. He yanked the 35-year-old left-hander.
