Rookie Tyler Ivey gets his debut starting against the Mall Cops (with apologies to mall cops)
To me, the human interest of a young man making his major league debut is greater than almost any game. We all here have probably played some baseball, and we know how hard it is. The amount of dedication for even the most talented person to get to the big leagues is monumental. The amount of work is almost incomprehensible, and even with all that, the vast majority who put in the effort don’t make it.
To even play one game in the major leagues is a thrill and an accomplishment beyond comparison, (except a long career and a trip to Cooperstown) and today Tyler Ivey has that thrill.
And I, for one, am thrilled to be able to have that chance to experience that with him tonight.
Go Tyler.
Go Stros. Beat the South Okies boys.
Here’s tonight’s lineups.
