Rangers All-Star pitcher Jacob deGrom is excited to be going back to where his career began. He is set to pitch Friday night in the the home stadium where he made 109 of his 245 starts in the big leagues and had back-to-back Cy Young Award-winning seasons with the New York Mets. He will be pitching against the Mets for the first time since leaving them in free agency for Texas after the 2022 season. The 37-year-old deGrom this season is 11-7 in 27 starts, his most since 2019 when he won his second Cy Young Award.
