Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi is likely done for the season because of a rotator cuff strain. Chris Young, the team’s president of baseball operation, made the announcement Tuesday. That came a day before Eovaldi’s scheduled start against the Los Angeles Angels when he had another opportunity to take over as MLB’s qualified ERA leader. Eovaldi is 11-3 with a career-best 1.73 ERA. His 130 innings pitches are just short of the innings needed to overtake Paul Skenes as the official ERA leader. The 35-year-old Eovaldi has won at least 11 games in each of his three seasons with the Rangers.
