The Texas Rangers are making a push for the playoffs. At the same time, they’re facing setbacks. Shortstop Corey Seager underwent an appendectomy this past week. It’s unclear how long he’ll be out. The Rangers have won five straight games, closing in on Seattle for the last wild card spot in the American League. However, they’re losing key players. Second baseman Marcus Semien and pitcher Nathan Eovaldi are also on the injured list. Texas has the best ERA in baseball and is in the mix for both a wild card and perhaps the AL West title.
