1963 – Jim Campbell game winner
In a 17-inning game against the Milwaukee Braves, Houston Astros catcher Jim Campbell singled home a game winner to give the Astros the 3-1 win.
1966 – Extra-inning rally
After entering the 12th inning tied 3-3 against the Cincinnati Reds, the Astros rallied for nine hits to beat the Reds 11-4. Rusty Staub managed two hits in the inning, singling first then following it up with a double.
2014 – Singleton contract
Yet to play a game in the majors, the Astros hand out a three-year contract to first baseman Jon Singleton. Despite having had problems in the past, the Astros still guaranteed him $10 million if he turned out to be a bust.
