1966 – Down goes Morgan
During pre-game batting practice of a game between the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals, Lee May hits a line-drive that hits Astros infielder Joe Morgan in the knee, breaking it, sitting him out 40 games and making him miss the All-Star game.
2006 – Astros avoid misery
After leading the game 9-2 through eight behind the pitching of Roy Oswalt, the Astros ended up winning 10-9 in the 13th inning to the Chicago White Sox thanks to an RBI-triple from Adam Everett. The comeback was started by the Sox Tadahito Igushi, who belted a three-run bomb to start things off.
2008 – Chacon is cut
Following an altercation with then-GM Ed Wade, the Astros announced that they would be suspending pitcher Shawn Chacon, eventually leading to the team voiding his contract all together. The altercation involved Chacon grabbing Wade by the neck and throwing him to the ground.
