1966 – Astros first All-Star
Houston Astros infielder Joe Morgan became the first Astros player to ever be named an All-Star Game starter after starting the season hitting .319. Unfortunately, Morgan couldn’t participate in the All-Star Game due to a broken kneecap he suffered just days prior.
1992 – Earthquake in LA
Prior to a game against the Los Angeles Dodgers, an earthquake hit LA that morning, shaking up the Astros and leading to an 8-2 loss. Ken Caminiti was the only Astro that seemed focused at the plate, leading the team with four hits.
2007 – Biggio’s 3000th
During a five-hit performance for Biggio, one of those hits was his 3000th, making him the 27th member to join the club and the first person to do it solely as an Astro. Hit No. 3000 came in the seventh inning and plated Brad Ausmus for one of the Astros eight runs in their 8-5 win over the Colorado Rockies.
