The Houston Astros tied a then-club record for runs, beating Pittsburgh Pirates 19-8 in the Astrodome. This record tied a 1995 win against the Chicago Cubs and wouldn’t be broken until the 2015 season.
2008 – Pence breaks up the no-no
After six innings of being no-hit, Astros outfielder Hunter Pence breaks up the no-hitter with a two-out single in the seventh. This wakes up the bats on the whole team and leads to an 8-5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
