After a 13 strikeout gem from Houston Astros pitcher Don Wilson and heading into the bottom of the ninth tied at two, Doug Rader smacks a grand slam to help propel the Astros to a 6-2 win over the Philadelphia Phillies.
1989 – Glenn Davis game
Down heading into the bottom of the ninth, Astros infielder Glenn Davis drills a two-out, two-run blast to tie the game and bring it to extras. It wouldn’t be till the 12th that the Astros were finally able to walk it off on a Rafael Ramirez single to score……. Glenn Davis.
2008 – Hunter Pence’s career day
In a game against the St. Louis Cardinals, Astros outfielder Hunter Pence had one of the best games of his career, going 5-for-5, to help the Astros to a 8-2 win. This win tied Houston with the Cards for second place in the division, only behind the Chicago Cubs.
2018 – Pitching duel?
After a pitching duel for the first seven innings of the game between former UCLA teammates Gerritt Cole and Trevor Bauer, the game ends as a 10-9 win for the Cleveland Indians after both bullpens imploded starting in the eighth inning.
