During a game against the St Louis Cardinals, two female fans stormed onto the field naked and streaked during the seventh-inning stretch. During the next inning, a distracted Cards team ended up giving up a three-spot to the Astros, leading to a 4-1 win.
1980 – Bill Virdon’s record
Houston Astros manager Bill Virdon set a new club record for wins with his 356th managerial win in the form of a 4-2 win over the Cards. Astros starter Vern Ruhle was the star of the game, going 8.2 innings, allowing just two hits and one run.
2015 – Gattis in the clutch
With a two-homer day from Evan Gattis, the Astros secured an 8-7 win over the Seattle Mariners. This moved their record to 18-7, the best start to a season in franchise history, and gave them a seven-game lead in the American League West.
2022 – Dusty gets No. 2000
A 4-0 win over the Mariners gives Astros manager Dusty Baker his 2000th mangurial win, making him the 12th person in baseball history to reach this mark and the first African-American to do it.
