Kyle Tucker, Bo Bichette and Kyle Schwarber are among 13 players who have received $22,025,000 qualifying offers from their former teams. The offers were made as baseball’s free agent market opened for negotiations. Dylan Cease, Edwin Díaz and Trent Grisham are also on the list. They have until Nov. 18 to accept. If a player who received a qualifying offer signs with another team, his former club gets a draft pick as compensation. Qualifying offers started after the 2012 season, and only 14 of 144 offers have been accepted. Some top free agents, like Pete Alonso and Cody Bellinger, are ineligible for qualifying offers.
