The weekend of May 30th will be star-studded on Montlake. The list of official visitors now includes eight blue-chip recruits. One five-star and seven four-star recruits will be on campus for Washington’s first big recruiting weekend of the Summer. Highlighting the group is the recently announced visit of five-star athlete Brandon Arrington. The number one football recruit from California has a versatile set of traits on the field and arguably Olympic-level track speed.
Brandon Arrington Visits Washington
Five-Star Visit
Arrington announced his official visit to Washington in a social media post on Tuesday evening before the weekend of his visit. Recruiting sites list the the two-way high school player as an “athlete,” rated inside the top 10 nationally and number one at his position. Washington will be Arrington’s second visit of the Summer. Earlier in May, he traveled to Happy Valley to officially visit Penn State. After his Washington visit this weekend, Arrington will make stops at Alabama, USC, Oregon, and Texas A&M in June. On July 5th, the coveted five-star player will make his commitment. Washington is now in the mix.
As a junior at Mount Miguel High School, Arrington totaled 10 touchdowns, seven pass breakups, two forced fumbles, and an interception playing both sides of the ball. Additionally, he caught 31 passes on offense with an average of 17 yards per catch. On the other side, he logged 26 total tackles. He lines up at receiver and cornerback, excelling in both phases of the game. According to MaxPreps, Arrington tallied 913 all-purpose yards during the 2024 season with rushing, receiving, and returning.
His athleticism extends past the football field as well. Arrington logged a 10.27-second 100-meter dash as a junior. In the 200-meter, Arrington broke the Arcadia Invitational record previously set by Olympian Noah Lyles. Arrington’s 20.35-second sprint was significantly quicker than Lyles’ 20.49-second record. The five-star football recruit is rewriting the record books with his speed, proving he can be a true weapon in a collegiate offense.
Arrington Set to Visit Washington
At 6’-3” and 180 pounds, this kind of speed and versatility is highly unique. Implementing speed into the Washington offense has been a primary goal for the Husky coaching staff this offseason. The offense now has Demond Williams Jr. at quarterback, Jordan Washington in the backfield, and Omari Evans at wide receiver. Speed is going to be a noticeable component of Jedd Fisch’s group.
The coaching staff has now earned an official visit from the nation’s fastest recruit, which is indicative of the direction Washington wants to continue under. This weekend, Fisch and company will have the unique opportunity to persuade Arrington to land on Montlake.
