Washington’s Demond Williams Jr. has been invited to serve as a counselor at this summer’s Manning Passing Academy. The annual offensive skills camp takes place during the final week of June at Nicholls State in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The Manning family (Archie, Cooper, Peyton, and Eli) has hosted the camp since 1996, inviting offensive skill position players from among the high school ranks to participate in the “Premier Offensive Football Camp” in the nation.

Current college football quarterbacks serve as counselors during the skills camp. Williams is one of over two dozen who have been invited to be a counselor thus far. There is potentially more to be announced in the coming weeks. It’s a list that currently includes Clemson’s Cade Klubnik, Penn State’s Drew Allar, Oklahoma’s John Mateer, Alabama’s Ty Simpson, and Iowa’s Mark Gronowski.
Williams is entering his true sophomore season at Washington after playing in all 13 games a year ago. Jedd Fisch strategically utilized his true freshman quarterback throughout the season, preparing him for what ultimately became his job by the end of the year. In a close game against UCLA, Williams took over the starting role and led the Huskies to a senior night win. He then started the final two games of the year at Oregon and in the Sun Bowl against Louisville. Williams caught the attention of the nation with his 374 passing yard performance that included five total touchdowns.
It’s Williams’ team in 2025, and the Husky offense figures to be improved from a season ago. It includes a more veteran offensive line whose potential starters return 2,241 snaps from last year. Jonah Coleman is coming off a 1,000-yard season, and Denzel Boston caught nine touchdowns a year ago. Washington is one of just two teams that can tout that kind of returning production. Baylor is the only other team to return a 1,000-yard running back and a nine-plus touchdown receiver from its 2024 roster. Williams will be the catalyst of this group. But before that, he’ll have the chance to throw with some of the nation’s top quarterbacks in Louisiana.
MPA Camp Details
This summer’s Manning Passing Academy will be its 29th iteration. Former Washington and Mississippi State starting quarterback Will Rogers served as a camp counselor four times during his career. Three times as a Bulldog (2021-23) and once as a Husky (2024).
While camp participants range from players entering the eighth grade to players entering their senior seasons of high school. It’s aimed at developing quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, and wide receivers through the guidance of the Manning Family and active collegiate quarterbacks.
