According to the 247 Sports composite rankings, Edwards is ranked as the No. 42 player in the country, the No. 3 RB and the No. 7 player in Texas. He chose the Aggies over offers from a host of other schools, with Texas and LSU reportedly leading the pack.
Edwards becomes A&M’s highest-ranked recruit in the 2026 class, and is the second RB commit, joining Cibolo Steele’s Jonathan Hatton. They have 17 total commits, and the class has now vaulted up to No. 2 nationally, behind only Southern Cal (who has 29 commits).
