Texas A&M Baseball has to find something against Kentucky this weekend
0-6 to start SEC play.
From preseason #1 to .500 on the season at 12-12.
No one saw this coming.
Now the Aggies find themselves with their backs against the wall as Kentucky (15-8, 2-4) comes to College Station.
The clock has run out.
Texas A&M needs to find a way to win this weekend’s series or the postseason likely becomes out of reach.

It’s no secret that the Aggie bats are struggling in 2025. A lineup that was projected to be among the best in the nation simply hasn’t delivered, struggling to find any kind of rhythm at the plate. As a team, the Aggies are hitting just .229 on the season.
If A&M fans are looking for good news heading into the Kentucky series, Caden Sorrell may be appearing for the first time this season after dealing with an injury to start the year. Perhaps Sorrell can provide a much-needed spark for this Aggie lineup against a Kentucky pitching staff that surrendered double-digit runs in each game of their SEC opening series against Georgia.
The Cats did fare better against Auburn last week but questions remain about the bullpen for Kentucky.

The Texas A&M pitching staff has had struggles of their own. While the trio of weekend starting pitchers for the Aggies ranks at the top of the SEC in ERA, the bullpen has been shaky at best. Prager, Lamkin, and Patton have given the squad chances to win but between the relievers and the previously mentioned struggles at the plate, the Aggies simply haven’t been able to finish.
In Kentucky, they face a lineup that is hitting .285 on the season with 23 home runs. Senior Columbia Transfer Cole Hage leads the Cats in both home runs (six) and batting average (.370). Shutting down this lineup won’t be an easy task but the Aggies have to find a way to make it happen this weekend.
It’s now or never.
