A major addition by Michael Earley & Co.
The college baseball transfer portal is seeing a ton of activity, and Texas A&M baseball just made a massive addition to their 2026 lineup. On Thursday night, Maryland infielder Chris Hacopian, the best hitter available in the portal, committed to the Aggies.
Safe to say @AggieBaseball got a massive commitment from the top bat in the portal in former Maryland infielder Chris Hacopian. Hit .375 with 14 homers and 61 RBIs this season. Hacopian combined with Gavin Grahovac and Caden Sorrell is something.

Hacopian slashed .375/.502/.656 with 14 HRs, 61 RBI and a 1.158 OPS for the Terrapins in 2025. For context, Jace LaViolette’s stats for this past season were .258/.427/.576 with 18 HRs, 61 RBI and a 1.003 OPS, so if the Aggies were looking to replace Jace’s bat, they seemed to have found it. Hacpopian, like Jace a year ago, is projected to go in the first round of next year’s MLB Draft.

Add Hacopian to a returning Caden Sorrell and Gavin Grahovac, and A&M will – at least on paper – once again have one of the more potent lineups in college baseball. As Michael Earley looks to rebound after an extremely disappointing first season in Aggieland, having this kind of offense at his disposal is a great way to do it.
