The nation’s top recruiting class is continuing to get stronger with the latest Ohio State commit. On Friday afternoon, Brian Hartline secured yet another four-star wide receiver recruit in Quincy Porter.

Porter represents the 15th commitment for Ryan Day in the 2025 cycle and second wide receiver, joining four-star De’zie Jones. According to 247Sports, Porter is the eighth-highest recruit in the Buckeyes’ class.

He is considered the 12th-best receiver recruit in the nation and second-best from New Jersey. He was set to visit Michigan this weekend but ultimately canceled and shut down his recruitment.

Four-Star Receiver Quincy Porter Commits to Ohio State

At Bergen Catholic in Oradell, New Jersey, Porter is a multi-sport athlete. In addition to football, is a standout in Track and Field.

On the gridiron, Porter was an immediate star. He burst onto the scene as a freshman and appeared on all of the major recruiting services as a future star.

In his sophomore season, Porter hauled in 35 passes for 686 yards and 11 touchdowns. Last year, he had himself an incredible campaign. With just 48 catches, Porter amassed 1 066 yards and 16 touchdowns. He led his team to a state title with a seven-catch, 97-yard performance in a 24-14 win.

Porter has credited all of his success to his coaches, especially head coach Vito Campanile. In an interview with On3, Porter said of his coaches, “They helped me a lot. I probably wouldn’t be in the spot I am now without the coaches. They kept me focused on working hard, even with some success. I didn’t really think much about if I got this or I got that. I just kept working because no matter what, as long as I keep working, I’d see results.”

The talented receiver was awarded the MaxPreps New Jersey Player of the Year last year.

Now that the Buckeyes have two receivers in the class, it’s starting to take shape. Ohio State is still pursuing Dakorian Moore, the former LSU commit and top-rated receiver. Additionally, the Buckeyes have expert crystal balls for five-star Jamie Ffrench (Alabama decommit) and four-star Vernell Brown III.
