Transfer Portal Landing Spots for Mohammed, Harris

January 8, 2026 by Last Word On College Football

Former Huskies Adam Mohammed and Audric Harris have landed at their new programs in the transfer portal. Mohammed joins Tosh Lupoi’s newly-constructed roster at Cal that includes several top names out of this year’s transfer portal cycle. Harris found an opportunity with a familiar quarterback at Hawai’i, where there’s a clear path for him to become a starter.

Transfer Portal – Mohammed, Harris

Adam Mohammed – Cal

Cal hired Oregon defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi as its next head coach after the Bears’ 7-6 season. While simultaneously acting as the defensive coordinator at Oregon and the head coach at Cal, Lupoi is constructing a talented pool of transfer portal additions for the 2026 roster in Berkeley. At running back, Mohammed is one of the centerpieces. Just one day before the former Husky announced his commitment to the program, Cal’s leading rusher from 2025 entered the transfer portal. Kendrick Raphael carried the ball 232 times for 943 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He played in all 13 games as the primary tailback. No other player had more than 34 carries in 2025.

At 6’-0” and 220 pounds, Mohammed will step in as the expected starting running back for the Golden Bears. He played in all 26 games during his two years at Washington, with two starts this past season. Filling in for an injured Jonah Coleman in the back-end of the year, Mohammed rushed for 272 yards with three touchdowns in the final three regular-season games. That included a 7.5-yard per carry performance against Oregon’s top-20 run defense in the season finale. Mohammed had 14 carries for 105 against the Ducks. Their defensive coordinator took note.

The Bears also added running backs Carter Vargas from UC Davis and Ashten Emory from UTEP in the transfer portal this cycle. Vargas averaged 6.6 yards per carry on 68 attempts in 2025 for the Aggies with three years of eligibility left. Emory was the Miners’ leading rusher as a freshman with 569 yards and will also have three years of eligibility remaining in Berkeley. The Cal transfer class also includes top wide receiver Ian Strong, who transferred in from Rutgers. Strong had 17 contested catches in 2025, good for fourth-most in the sport. His 6’-3” frame will provide a high-impact downfield threat for quarterback Jaron Keawe-Sagapolutele next season in the Bay Area.

Audric Harris – Hawai’i

Hawai’i added a big-play receiver threat to its offense with the addition of Harris. He played sparingly in 2025 for the Huskies. But when called upon, he had an immediate impact. Against Purdue, Harris had two catches for 90 yards, including a 61-yard touchdown reception. Harris finished his sophomore season with five catches for 99 yards and a score. He was one of several talented receivers who had to fight for playing time in a deep receiver room at Washington. But at Hawai’i, he’ll have the opportunity to become a starter.

Harris will join his former high school quarterback Micah Alejado, who tossed 35 touchdowns his senior season at Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas). Harris hauled in 13 of those touchdowns with an average of 95.5 receiving yards per game during their final season. His fit at Hawai’i is ideal. There’s already an established quarterback-receiver chemistry. And three of the team’s four leading receivers from last season will not be returning next season. Jackson Harris transferred to LSU with a team-high 963 yards and 12 touchdowns. Brandon White, the third-leading receiver, also entered the transfer portal. And Karsyn Pupunu is out of eligibility, but petitioning for an additional year due to a medical redshirt. That leaves Pofele Ashlock, this year’s Hawaii Bowl MVP, who had eight touchdowns in 2025 with a team-high 79 catches. Harris will step foot on campus with a clear opportunity to reach the top of the depth chart for the Rainbow Warriors.
