Washington’s 2026 class currently ranks 25th nationally and seventh in the Big Ten. The Huskies are one of just nine programs that hold a commitment from a five-star recruit. Offensive tackle Kodi Greene is the five-star for Washington. In addition to him, the class includes two four-star recruits and six three-star recruits. Five of those Husky commits will be on campus this weekend for official visits. That includes the top player in the state, and an Elite 11 quarterback.
Washington Commits Set For Official Visits
Derek Colman-Brusa
The number one player from the state of Washington announced his commitment to stay home in the early part of May. Derek Colman-Brusa is a top 20 EDGE nationally with a four-star rating, earning the interest of several of the nation’s top programs. In addition to Washington, Colman-Brusa was being pursued by Ohio State, USC, Oregon, and UCLA.
Coleman-Brusa boasts a loaded stats column at Kennedy Catholic High School in Burien, Washington. As a junior, the Husky commit recorded 68 tackles, including an incredible 30 tackles for loss. He had 13 sacks, three pass breakups, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery, and three blocked extra points. Colman-Brusa creates havoc in a variety of ways from the defensive line. At 6’-5” and 270 pounds, he’s able to use his length and physicality to disrupt throwing lanes and secure tackles with range.
The year prior, Colman-Brusa notched 20 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and four forced fumbles. His consistency in production year-over-year is what’s helped solidify him as one of the top players in the country. He’ll be on campus this weekend for his official visit, helping to persuade other recruits to pledge to Washington.
Derek Zammit
Twenty quarterback recruits in the class of 2026 earned invitations to the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles this summer. Washington commit Derek Zammit is one of them. The four-star quarterback out of New Jersey committed to the Huskies in mid-April over Alabama, Syracuse, and Mississippi State. His invitation to the Finals of the nation’s premier quarterback competition came immediately following his performance at the Elite 11 Regional event in State College, Pennsylvania. Zammit becomes Jedd Fisch’s second quarterback recruit at Washington to earn an Elite 11 Finalist invitation. Demond Williams Jr. was a finalist in 2023 as a member of the 2024 recruiting class.
Zammit’s junior season at DePaul Catholic High School was his best. He connected on 35 touchdown passes for 2,582 passing yards with just four interceptions, according to MaxPreps. On the ground, Zammit rushed for 560 yards and six touchdowns with an average of 8.8 yards per attempt. In 12 games, the Husky commit led his high school to a New Jersey State Championship in the Non-Public Group B division. He also participated in the Under Armour All-American Game in early 2025 where he connected on four of five passes for 55 yards. Zammit is expected on his official visit to Washington this weekend.
CJ Lavender
Three-star defensive back CJ Lavender committed to Washington in late March. The Mater Dei High School standout chose the Huskies over Stanford, Miami (FL), and Oklahoma. Teammates with current Washington quarterback Dash Beierely at Mater Dei a season ago, Lavender and company won the High School Football America national championship for the Monarchs.
Lavender is versatile at defensive back, lining up at safety, cornerback, and nickel. He’s been a starter for each of his three seasons of high school, and is slated to become a four-year starter this Fall. During last year’s national championship season, Lavender notched 41 tackles, five pass breakups, two interceptions, and two fumble recoveries. Overall, the Husky commit totaled 77 tackles and 12 pass breakups in high school thus far. Lavender is expected to be at Washington for his official visit in a loaded recruiting event.
Ah Deong Yang
Washington is set to host another local recruit who’s already pledged to stay home. Ah Deong Yang is a 6’-4” and 320-pound interior offensive lineman. The Seattle area native transferred to Puyallup High School for his senior season, having played at Roosevelt High School previously. Yang was primarily recruited by former Husky offensive line coach Brennan Carroll and committed to the Huskies last November. With Michael Switzer taking over that coaching role, Yang has spent time on his previous visits getting to know the new staff. This weekend will be another opportunity for the future Husky to bond with the coaches and help recruit more talent to the program.
CJ Wallace
Three-star kicker CJ Wallace was one of the first commitments of Washington’s 2026 class, announcing his decision in April of 2024. The 247Sports Composite lists Wallace as the nation’s top place kicker in his class. Fisch offered Wallace a scholarship just days after becoming the head coach at Washington in January of 2024.
Chris Sailer Kicking is a kicking and punting camp and training program that also puts together ratings for specialists in the high school ranks. Wallace is a five-star (out of a possible six stars) kicker in that rating system. The future Husky kicks at St. John Bosco High School in the Trinity League in Southern California. As a junior, Wallace connected on a 48-yard and a 49-yard field goal, and scored 74 kicking points on the season. As one of the first commits of the class, Wallace is sure to help sway some decisions towards Washington during his official visit this weekend.
