Washington Lands Three Commitments After Recruiting Weekend

June 25, 2024 by Last Word On College Football

Washington Recruiting

A successful recruiting weekend at Washington ended with three players committing to the Huskies on Sunday afternoon. Jedd Fisch hinted at the prospect of several forthcoming commitments by posting eight Purple Reign emojis on social media. He later added three more, indicating that 11 players might soon announce where they’re headed. On Sunday alone, three of them made their commitments public.

Donovan Robinson – LB

Three-star linebacker Donovan Robinson is a top-25 player from the state of Illinois who recently decommitted from Virginia. His decommitment came shortly after receiving offers from Washington and Minnesota. Robinson officially visited both, attending Washington this past weekend. On Sunday, Robinson announced he’d play football at Washington on social media.

As a junior at Loyola Academy in Wilmette, Illinois, Robinson had 34 tackles, three tackles for loss, and an interception. He also returned punts and played a little bit of wide receiver. He is 6’-3” and 210 pounds in the middle of the field and has the versatility to play in coverage and at a hybrid-type position. Robinson’s length is something that the Washington staff has shown interest in having on the defense. Whether it be a 6’-4” cornerback or a 6’-3” safety, length is a priority of the new-age style of defender that Washington is after. Robinson fits that bill as a recruit and is now a future Husky.

Dezmen Roebuck – ATH

On the list of visitors for Washington’s Recruiting weekend, three-star athlete Dezmen Roebuck got his opportunity to check out the program. On Sunday, he left as another future Husky with his commitment. In three years of high school ball, Roebuck has put together a tremendous stats sheet. He is off of back-to-back 1,200-plus yard seasons where he totaled 21 reception touchdowns. At Marana High School in Arizona, Roebuck is averaging 100 yards receiving per game over three seasons and has over 3,100 reception yards. He also holds the state record for receptions with 257 and still has a full season ahead of him.

Roebuck is listed at 5’-11” and projects as a slot wide receiver at Washington. The way Fisch used this size of receiver at Arizona was largely at the slot and highly utilized. Jacob Cowing had a very similar frame to Roebuck and was the Wildcats’ second-leading receiver in each of the last two seasons. The prospect of how Roebuck could be utilized at Washington is in a position of opportunity. The top 10 player from Arizona is one of the newest members of the 2025 Husky class.

Victor Sanchez Hernandez – EDGE

Washington added a local product to its 2025 class after this recruiting weekend as well. Three-star Mukileto, Washington native Victor Sanchez Hernandez was a late addition to the official visitors’ list. Sanchez Hernandez was the first official visitor to announce his commitment on Sunday afternoon. He becomes the second EDGE rusher in the Husky class of 2025.

Sanchez Hernandez already has good size at 6’-4” and north of 230 pounds. He only began playing football in high school and will continue to develop his skill set on the defensive line. With his size, Sanchez Hernandez could be a prolific EDGE or even slide into the defensive tackle spot to take up space. He had offers from Boise State, BYU, and Oregon State, among others. Sanchez Hernandez, Roebuck, and Robinson now make up a 2025 class at Washington with 10 players. And if Fisch’s social media post are indicative of what’s to come, this class could continue to grow in the near future.
