The draft, and then the schedule.
The release of the NFL regular season schedule is a landmark day of the offseason. Fans and media gluttons go through and pick each team’s win-loss record, fantasizing and feeling themselves in some promiscuous reality. Travel plans are made and tickets are bought so future games can be attended. At that moment, the NFL season morphs from an idea to a reality.
Prior to 2020, the NFL schedule was announced before the NFL Draft. This changed last year. Once again this year, the schedule will be released after the 2021 NFL Draft takes place.
For the second straight year, the 2021 NFL schedule will be released after the draft, per source. Not that there was much of a question about it, but it’s now official. Draft, then schedule.

Last year, the schedule was released on Thursday, May 7th. The NFL Network had a show for it and everything. As David Culley would say, the red carpet feels just like a regular carpet. When things become too cozy, these are the things people live for. Expect something similar to occur this year. Based on last year, this would put the NFL release date on Thursday, May 6th, a week after the NFL Draft takes place.
In addition to this, the NFL has finalized its schedule change to seventeen games, something we all hate and something that nobody wants. It’s a terrible and disgusting thing. Houston is set to play the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, and Los Angeles Chargers at home. They are set to play the Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, Miami Dolphins, and San Francisco 49ers on the road.
We know who the Texans will play. We only have a vague idea of when we will know when.
