8 Players To Buy And Sell In Fantasy Football: Week 6

October 10, 2023 by Last Word On Pro Football

Fantasy Football Buy

Every week brings a new challenge. Unwanted injuries can pop up. Offenses can struggle and just go cold. Players can get hot and go on a scoring streak. Finding the value and taking advantage of the situations can help you when trading. Buying the dip or selling at a player’s peak value will only help you in the long run as the fantasy football season continues. Buy these players, or sell them before it’s too late.

Fantasy Football Week 6 Buy and Sell Targets

Players to Buy

Jonathan Taylor (RB: Indianapolis Colts)

Fantasy managers witnessed their star running back, whom they waited so patiently to return from injury, forfeit touches to Zack Moss. Moss racked up 195 total yards on 25 touches on the day and even played 80% of the snaps. This is the perfect, and likely last, time to buy Jonathan Taylor. After a down week, the buy window is still wide open and the Taylor manager might be a little worried. At some point, Taylor will return to form and get his premium touches back. Buy him while the value is at a low point.

DeVonta Smith (WR: Philadelphia Eagles)

DeVonta Smith had his second game under 10 fantasy points this season last week. However, he remains one of the top options in a high-flying Philadelphia Eagles offense. Smith is second on the team with a 22% target share, receptions (23), and yards (290). He’s also tied for first in receiving touchdowns with A.J. Brown. DeVonta Smith is currently sitting as a WR3, but his upside is so much greater than that. See if the DeVonta Smith owner is panicking and send them an offer.

Cole Kmet (TE: Chicago Bears)

Through five games, Cole Kmet is one of two playmaking pass catchers for the Bears. Kmet is second in all major receiving categories (targets, receptions, yards, and touchdowns) on the team. He’s got a 21% target share and has four or more receptions in four of five games played this season. Kmet is also averaging a modest 12.84 PPG. The Chicago Bears are finally finding their offensive groove scoring a combined 68 points over their last two weeks. Cole Kmet is one of the main beneficiaries as a result. Let the scoring frenzy continue and buy Cole Kmet.

Bonus Buy – Jaylen Warren

Believe it or not, the undrafted sophomore has outscored the former first-rounder, Najee Harris, in every single game this season. Sometimes buying a player isn’t about getting a stud, but obtaining a player to build depth for the championship stretch. Jaylen Warren is averaging 10 fantasy points per game and that’s a solid flex start each week. Depth is just as important as your starters this time of year. If anything were to happen to Najee Harris, Warren would get the bulk of the running back touches and instantly be a top 24 fantasy running back. Go buy one of the best “handcuffs” in fantasy.

Players to Sell

Rhamondre Stevenson (RB: New England Patriots)

The New England Patriots offense has been a disaster. Rhamondre Stevenson has gone three straight games under 10 fantasy points. Splitting carries with Ezekiel Elliott is not helping matters either. The upcoming game against the Las Vegas Raiders is the type of game Stevenson and the Patriots offense needs to get back on track. It might not be peak time to sell off Stevenson, but in a favorable matchup, it’s a good selling point to counter with. Especially if the owner is desperate for a running back.

Gabe Davis (WR: Buffalo Bills)

Fun fact: Gabe Davis only has a 16% target share. He’s the only wide receiver in the top 24 with under a 20% target share. Davis is also riding a four-game touchdown streak. On the season, Davis has 73.8 fantasy points, and a third of those points are from touchdowns. Davis’ fantasy production is unsustainable and is an easy sell while his value is at a high.

Jake Ferguson (TE: Dallas Cowboys)

Jake Ferguson is averaging almost six targets a game. He’s got one game over 50 yards receiving and two with five or more receptions. Ferguson is currently a top 15 tight end, but from the eye test, he’s just defying all odds as a top fantasy tight end. He’s either playing at his ceiling already and is going to come crashing down, or Ferguson has room to improve and can be even better. Gamble on the former and sell Jake Ferguson.

WR route %: TE42

Bonus Sell – Dalton Schultz (TE: Houston Texans)

Speaking of former Dallas Cowboys tight ends, Dalton Schultz is coming off his best game of the season. He also has back-to-back games with a receiving touchdown. The problem with Schultz is, he’s a boom or bust player and solely dependent on a touchdown. In two games with a touchdown, he’s averaging 16.35 points. However in games without, that total drops way down to 3.9 points. The tight end position is thin, so someone with a big hole might see the two back-to-back great games and buy him at a premium. Take advantage and sell Dalton Schultz while his value is high.
