If there’s any question for the Houston Texans’ future entering 2024, it’s their defensive line
Will Anderson Jr. is coming off a Defensive Rookie of the Year campaign and should reach All-Pro status in no time. Despite losing Jonathan Greenard, Houston signed Minnesota Vikings edge rusher Danielle Hunter to a two-year deal as his replacement. Hunter might not be the best pass rusher in the league, but combine his 23.5 tackles for loss and you’re hard pressed to find anyone not listing him in the top 12.
But is this position group as a whole when including defensive tackle? The Texans let Sheldon Rankins walk in free agency and traded Maliek Collins. Denico Autry comes over from Tennesee, but he spet the last three seasons as a defensive end in a 3-4 system. Will he transition back to the spot that made him a polarizing figure with ease?
ESPN’s Mike Clay released his 2024 NFL projections, including ranking every interior defensive line group in the league. Where do the Texans’ D-tackles land among the rest of football?
