When the Houston Texans take on the New Orleans Saints tomorrow, rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud has the potential to make some history if he and his receivers can just take care of the ball.
According to ProFootballTalk, Stroud is on pace to become the first quarterback in history with no interceptions in his first six starts. As it stands, he’s already just the fourth player in history to go without throwing an interception while throwing for over 1,400 yards through five games.
Granted, Stroud isn’t exactly keeping the ball off the ground at all times. He’s completing 61.3-percent of his passes and has fumbled the ball several times already.
But he’s averaging over 290 yards per game and has seven touchdowns on the season. He certainly looks like the leading quarterback to win Offensive Rookie of the Year if he keeps playing this way.

C.J. Stroud was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft following an historic career as the starting quarterback at Ohio State.
What’s even more impressive is that Stroud never had a five-game stretch of games without throwing an interception while he was in college. The fact that he’s already done that through his first five NFL starts when rookies often rank among the worst perpetrators of committing turnovers is downright astonishing.
Will Stroud make history tomorrow?
