Chiefs, Ravens May Trade for $15 Million Wide Receiver

The Kansas City Chiefs or Baltimore Ravens may trade for $15 million wide receiver, Robert Woods this upcoming season. According to a report, Pro Football Network lists at least one NFL player from every AFC South Team that could be a trade candidate and Woods is a part of it. The wide receiver room is looking to be overcrowding so it may be wise to put some wideouts on the trade block to see if they get some draft picks or something in return to address the Texans’ needs. Houston has been active this offseason by trading for Stefon Diggs and signing Nico Collins to a massive contract.

This might spell the end of Woods’ tenure with the Texans since his age and production is dwindling in the league. C.J. Stroud is getting all the attention so the Texans are making sure they still have eyes now that they have Diggs and Joe Mixon on the same roster. One source believes that the Jets should trade for a wide receiver to help Aaron Rodgers in the pass-catching game even though they have established weapons. He could be a good cheap additional slot receiver who could slide in for either Mike Williams or Malachi Corley at any point.

However, Woods may not be playing much longer since he may not have much in the tank to provide for an offense. It shouldn’t stop him from championship teams like the Chiefs or Ravens to look into him. Kansas City has one of the most lackluster receiver depths despite drafting Xavier Worthy and signing Marquise Brown. Kadarius Toney is most likely on the chopping block after underperforming.

The Ravens need a solid No. 3 receiver to compete with incoming wideout Nelson Agholor behind Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.

Other Potential Trade Candidates

Carolina Panthers

Bryce Young is entering this upcoming season with one of the most interesting offenses after trading for Diontae Johnson and drafting Xavier Legette. However, to keep this offense moving then they should continue stacking more wideouts as a strong supporting cast for Young. Woods isn’t in his prime anymore so he wouldn’t come costly for the Panthers to see what he can do by teaming up with Legette to compete for the No. 3 spot. It should interesting to see if the Panthers add more firepower and Woods would be the perfect man for that position late in his career.

New Orleans Saints

The Saints don’t have any choice but to consider a trade at this point as the season is around the corner. There aren’t many options available in the free agent market other than Michael Thomas and Hunter Renfrow. However, no one should expect New Orleans to bring Thomas back on a new contract. Woods could come at a cheap price for a one-year deal if it means an emergency depth.

A.T. Perry may have a surprising season this year but only one can tell what the future holds. However, Derek Carr needs all the help he needs as he’s on the hot seat already. Woods would be the perfect slot receiver to help alongside Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed.

Los Angeles Chargers

Justin Herbert is out for the next two weeks so they should look into who will come in as a new gadget for this offense. They have tons of weapons but the issue is that most don’t have starter potential like Quentin Johnston and Josh Palmer. Don’t expect a guy like DJ Chark to outperform other guys like Ladd McConkey who’s been showing plenty of promise at training camp. However, it’s not the worst pass-catching offense but it’s going to take more if Jim Harbaugh wants to see this team in the Super Bowl one day.
