PFF Picks Houston Texans to win AFC South in 2024

Any given Sunday notwithstanding…

PFF.com recently dropped their self-professed “Way-too-early picks for division winners.” In that, the writer, Trevor Sikkema, noted the Houston Texans were the likely winner of the AFC South in 2024.

Us too, Trevor.

With less than 2 months to go before the 2024 season begins in Canton Ohio, expectations for the Texans are running high. The Hall of Fame Game will drop an exclamation point on a great few days of festivities. Why great? Because this is the first time the Hall inducts a Houston Texan, namely Andre Johnson.

I could watch Andre Johnson highlights all day. Glad he’s going to be the first Texans player enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. pic.twitter.com/FI0Y2rgjDO

How sweet it will be to see the Traveling Texans filling the seats for the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

But, that’s a discussion for another day.

Back to the topic at hand:

The Houston Texans win the AFC South in 2024

From PFF.com:

AFC SOUTH: HOUSTON TEXANS

The Texans enter the summer months as the favorite to win the AFC South after going 10-7 in C.J. Stroud‘s and DeMeco Ryans’ first season in town.

From Week 8, they went 7-4 and ranked top-20 in basically every offensive and defensive category as a team. It feels like that roster got so much better this offseason, as well, with additions such as Stefon Diggs, Danielle Hunter, Azeez Al-Shaair, Joe Mixon and Denico Autry.

This division is always wildly unpredictable — as evidenced by the Texans winning it last year — so don’t count the Colts or the Jaguars out. But the Texans came out on top last year and only got more talented this offseason, so they’re the team we have the most confidence in.

Despite what he says, go ahead, count the Indianapolis Colts and Jacksonville Jaguars out. And, don’t even think about the Tennessee Titans… pft.

Sikkema anoints the Miami Dolphins winners of the AFC East. He feels the Cincinnati Bengals will win the AFC North. And, the Kansas City Chiefs will once again reign in the AFC West.

For the opposing conference, Sikkema has the Philadelphia Eagles winning the NFC East. The Detroit Lions taking the NFC North. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers prevailing in the NFC South and the Texans’ head coach Demeco Ryans former team, the San Francisco 49ers winning the NFC West.

What do you think? Agree with all the above? Think PFF is way off base? Who do you predict will win the divisions, conferences and ultimately the Super Bowl in 2024?
