Should the Houston Texans re-sign Robert Woods?
Wide receiver Robert Woods signed a two-year deal with the Houston Texans in March of 2023, a time when the team needed a veteran on offense.
In his first year with the Texans, Woods caught 40 passes for 427 yards and one-touchdown, and in his second year, caught only 20 passes for 203 yards and zero touchdowns.
Woods did make some clutch third-down catches throughout his tenure in Houston, but overall his production did not come close to his $15M contract.

The Texans need to bring in a few different wide receivers this offseason, and it would make sense if Woods was not one of them, despite his valuable locker room presence. Houston needs players that can produce at a high level, and at this point in his career, Woods can not do that.
All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs is also a free agent, and Tank Dell, who would’ve been a huge part of the offense, is set to miss most of, if not all of the 2025 season due to the horrific knee injury suffered against the Chiefs in Kansas City.
The only wide receivers currently under contract are Nico Collins, John Metchie III, Xavier Hutchinson and Jared Wayne.
