The Houston Texans’ 2024 season ended with a 23-14 loss to the two-time defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday at Arrowhead Stadium. The Texans closed their season with an overall record of 11-8.
Houston made history by becoming the first team to out-gain its opponent by 100+ yards, not turn the ball over, and lose a postseason game, per ESPN. Previous such teams were 49-0 in the playoffs.
The Chiefs’ quest for the league’s first three-peat in the Super Bowl era continues as they advance to their seventh consecutive AFC title game. Houston has never reached the conference championship and is 0-7 in the divisional round.
Still, Houston is set up for years to come as a threat in the AFC with C.J. Stroud, Nico Collins, Derek Stingley Jr., and Will Anderson Jr.
Below are five takeaways from Saturday’s loss to the Chiefs.
