Three Teams Stefon Diggs Could Play For

January 30, 2025 by Last Word On Pro Football

Stefon Diggs

Wide receiver Stefon Diggs has had a very accomplished NFL career so far. He has had great seasons for both the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills. Diggs was traded from the Bills to the Houston Texans before the start of the 2024 season. However, Diggs tore his ACL in week 8, ending his season. Now, he is a free agent and these three teams would be a good fit.

Three Teams Stefon Diggs Could Play For

Stefon Diggs had six consecutive 1,000-yard seasons until his ACL tear this season. Although he is aging, Diggs is still a top talent at receiver in the league. The Houston Texans may not be able to resign him. If this is the case, there are two other teams that could Diggs could fit well with.

Houston Texans

The Houston Texans dealt with a ton of injuries this season, including to wide receivers Tank Dell and Stefon Diggs. However, this should not deter Houston from wanting to resign Diggs this offseason. In their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the playoffs, the Texans lacked fire power on the outside besides Nico Collins. The offense only managed 12 points. If Diggs was out there, it may have been a different story. Through his first eight games in Houston, Diggs had 47 receptions for 496 yards and 3 touchdowns. This full season pace is roughly 100 receptions, 1,000 yards, and 6-7 touchdowns. The Texans should not let a productive receiver leave when their offense struggled in the Divisional Round. Quarterback C.J. Stroud and Diggs could very well have a stronger connection next season too.

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys would be a great fit for Stefon Diggs. Dallas has consistently been searching for a receiver to pair with star CeeDee Lamb. Diggs and Lamb would make a formidable receiving duo for quarterback Dak Prescott and new head coach Brian Schottenheimer. It is also worth noting that Trevon Diggs, Stefon’s brother, is a cornerback for the Cowboys. Dallas could look to add some offensive help for their new head coach, and Diggs could be the perfect fit at receiver.

Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens have lacked a truly elite receiver for some time. The Ravens consistently make the playoffs but have often lacked playmaking on the outside. This season, Baltimore threw the ball very well as quarterback Lamar Jackson threw for over 4,000 yards. However, in their loss to the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs and with Zay Flowers out, the Ravens need for another star receiver was evident. Stefon Diggs will likely want to sign with a winning team, which the Ravens are. A healthy Zay Flowers next to Diggs with Derrick Henry and Jackson leading the rushing attack would be incredibly difficult for opposing defenses to stop.

What would be the best fit?

Resigning with the Houston Texans would very likely be the best fit for Diggs as he already has half a season under his belt in their offensive system. Stroud and Diggs were starting to develop a connection through the air. If Houston does resign Diggs and he continues to develop a connection with Stroud, their offense could reach a new level. Nico Collins had a breakout season for the Texans and he will continue to improve as well.
