The Rockets try to avoid the season sweep at the hands of the Kings
The Houston Rockets haven’t given up a ton of 40-point quarters this season. Certainly they’ve occurred more frequently than Ime Udoka would like and there was a stretch just before the All-Star break in which Houston’s defense cratered under the strain of injuries and malaise.
The Sacramento Kings have 2 quarters of 42 points against Houston this season. The Kings are 2-0 against the Rockets and tonight is the final meeting between the two teams. Sacramento made 15 straight shots in the first matchup and Udoka got ejected because the refs needed to “get some f###### glasses.” In the second game, Sacramento shot 50% from the field and 42% from deep. They consistently used the “never miss” strategy to great effect. Houston refused to go away, but the Kings once again prevailed.
Tonight’s game obviously won’t change the tiebreaker in the season series, but with the Rockets set to head out on a three-game road trip with stops in OKC and Indy, tonight’s game is massive for the standings.
We’ll be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
