Houston looks to start a winning streak tonight
After a tough win on national television, the Houston Rockets will try to keep the winning going in Salt Lake City against the Utah Jazz.
Both teams played last night. Utah got blown out at home against the Oklahoma City Thunder, who do that to everyone. Houston will have the disadvantage of having to fly overnight to SLC, but obviously it’s a happier flight than if they had lost.
This would normally be considered a trap game. The Rockets are in a desperate time with 26 games left in a race to make the playoffs and avoid the play-in (or the lottery, I guess). However, I think picking up the win last night might allow Houston to play with more freedom. Remember, even when Houston was playing bad teams before the All-Star break, the desperation was obvious. It was clear that the Rockets were pressing against Brooklyn and Toronto. Hopefully they can get back to a place where they’re comfortably beating lesser opponents.
Houston is likely without Fred VanVleet tonight, and Tari Eason is definitely out since he’s still not playing in back-to-backs. Again, the win last night was huge for this reason.
We’ll be in the Playback room tonight, so you should come join to watch the Rockets and talk about the game. Remember, we get a handful of VIP passes that we give out to anyone who wants to watch the game. No League Pass necessary!
