The Rockets drop their second game in as many nights.
The Houston Rockets found themselves on the losing end of a basketball game for the second night in a row after falling to the Golden State Warriors.
At least the Rockets were consistent, posting 109 points for the second night in a row. However, the opponents were slightly different, with the Clippers putting up 126 Friday night and the Warriors posting a meager 125 tonight.
The Rockets did get John Wall back after he sat Friday night’s game in Los Angeles for injury management. He was leaps and bounds the Rockets best player on the floor, scoring a team-high 30 points on 11-19 from the floor and 5-7 from three.
The Rockets stayed close with the Warriors in the first quarter because their threes were falling, but the defense fell flat in the second quarter and the Warriors took advantage, taking the lead away from the Rockets and never giving it back.
Stephen Curry proved once again why he’s one of the best to play in the NBA, scoring a game-high 38 and Andrew Wiggins put up a respectable 25 points.
As the season pulls into its final month, we are starting to see a pattern with this Rockets team. The potential is there and it flashes every night, but for a second consecutive night, it didn’t flash as much as it needed to in order to compete for a win.
The Rockets travel to Phoenix for another battle with the Suns Monday night. Tipoff is at 9 p.m. CT.
